SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Animal Shelter is having a spay and neuter sale this weekend at Petsense on Hwy. 280.
The Sylacauga Animal Shelter, along with the Feral Dogs of Avondale Mills, will be giving spay and neuter vouchers for both cats and dogs this weekend for $25.
The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Pet owners can bring their cat or dog to Petsense to receive a spay or neuter voucher. Vouchers are only available to Talladega County and Coosa County residents. Two vouchers will be given per household, but more will be available for purchase at noon until supplies last.
More than 1800 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens have already come through the Sylacauga Animal Shelter this year and shelter volunteers stress the importance of spaying and neutering to reduce the number.
There are many people who have already taken advantage of these discounted vouchers to create change in our community. The Animal Shelter’s shelves are low on food. Donations of wet and dry dog and puppy food, as well as kitty litter and cleaning products are all needed. The Sylacauga Animal Shelter will also be be accepting cash for vouchers. No credit or debit cards will be accepted.
If you do not have a cat or dog in need of spaying or neutering, shelter volunteers ask that you stop by Petsense Saturday to consider making a donation to the Animal Shelter.
