SouthFirst Bank Adult Lecture Series to begin Sept. 19 at noon

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Comer Library’s SouthFirst Bank Adult Lecture Series to kick off with Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame performer, Elnora Spencer from Birmingham.

Elnora Spencer—accompanied by piano, bass, and drums—will open the SouthFirst Bank Lecture Series on Sept. 19 at noon at the Comer Library.  The renowned vocalist and her talented musicians will present an hour of what she calls “jazzy blues” for the audience’s enjoyment.

Library director, Tracey Thomas, commented on the fall series—“You Must Remember This”— saying, “The Comer Library is pleased to offer an interesting array of programs to our wonderful adult participants who come in from parts of four counties to enjoy food, fellowship and fun with programs on history, literature, music, storytelling and more!  This “painless learning opportunity” is sure to appeal to adults who are interested in lifelong learning with the following programs presented by noted historians and performers:
