SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga High School Theatre Department wants to invite the public to its production of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe in December.
The play is based on the Chronicles of Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis and follows the storyline of the first published book in the series, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
The story takes place in London during World War II. Four siblings, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, are moved into a safehouse in the country. While exploring the house, Lucy wanders into a wardrobe, finding herself in winter woods. There she meets Mr. Tumnus and has tea with him; he then tells her about the place called Narnia and the White Witch. Lucy leaves and returns with her siblings, and they join the great lion Aslan to fight the evil witch together.
The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is directed by Ms. Lauren Taunton. The cast includes Mackenzie Bridges (Lucy), Colby Green (Edmund), Madison Martin (Susan), Landan Owen (Peter), Logan Chance (Father Christmas/ Aslan), AshLeigh Johnson (White Witch), Jerek Stage (Mr. Beaver), Maria Gomez (Mrs. Beaver), Jeremiah Chalkley (Tumnus), Lamya Johnson (Unicorn), Scott Esparza (Centaur), Matt Bryan (Fenris Ulf), Anias Curry (Elf/ Dwarf), Taniyah Williams (White Stag).
Opening night will be Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sylacauga High School Aggie Theater located at 701 N. Broadway Ave. You can also see the play Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. or Dec. 9 at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for students (children 3 and up) and $10 for adults. They can be purchased from Magnolias Gift Shop, the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, any cast or crew member, or at the door.
