Rep. Mike Rogers elected as ranking member on Homeland Security Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mike Rogers has been elected as ranking member on the Homeland Security Committee.

This signifies Rogers is the top republican on the committee after being voted on by other republicans in the House of Representatives.

Rogers has been on the Homeland Security since it was first established during his first term in congress under the Bush administration. He was first elected to congress in 2002.

“I have been on this committee since it was first established, and I have seen a lot of ups and downs,” the congressman said. “I’m glad the knowledge I have gained will be able to work in this committee in a top position.”

Rogers has also been a a chairman or ranking member of three of the six Homeland Security sub-committees during his tenure in congress.
