CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – Renasant Bank in Childersburg is no stranger to giving back to people and charitable organizations in its community.
Recently the branch has raised money for Breast Cancer with its “Pink-O-Ween” event in October, Habitat for Humanity in December, and raised money for veterans with its “Totes of Hope” campaign in March.
“At Renasant Bank, our mission is to positively impact the communities we serve,” said Janice Grohs. Grohs is the branch manager of Renasant Bank in Childersburg. “It is this seed where community and economic development initiatives can sprout. Since inception, the spirit of community is what shapes our core as a financial institution.”
The latest benefactor of a Renasant Childersburg event will be Alabama Childhood Food Solutions.
Alabama Childhood Food Solutions (ACFS) in Sylacauga and Birmingham is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that provides food to food-insecure children in five counties in Central Alabama. ACFS recognized the childhood food insecurity problem plaguing children in the state and decided to do something about it. The organization’s goal is to make an impact on hunger in Alabama and beyond.
On Friday, June 29, Renasant Bank in Childersburg will host its “Fourth of July BBQ” fundraiser. Renasant will sell plates for five dollars. Plates include a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, chips, dessert and a drink.
Every bit of the proceeds will benefit ACFS. Renasant’s goal is to feed provide over 1,500 meals for children from the proceeds.
“Our goal for the fundraiser is to sell 80 lunches. Each lunch sold represents 20 meals for a hungry child,” Grohs explained. “If we reach our goal that would be 1,600 meals we can provide hungry children.”
The ACFS fundraiser will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 29 and end at 4:00 or until the BBQ is gone.
The Childersburg Branch of Renasant Bank is located at 120 8th Ave. SW in historic downtown Childersburg.
