RadioAlabama stations win prestigious ABBY Awards for Broadcast Excellence

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Two RadioAlabama stations earned four top honors in the Alabama Broadcasters Association’s annual ABBY Awards ceremony on Saturday.

KiX 100.3’s East Central Alabama High School Football Coaches Show, hosted by Jeremy Law and David McCurley with help from Brent Atchley, K.J. McCurley, and Robert Sprayberry, was named 2019’s best Sports Show/Sports Talk Show. McCurley also received a Judges Award of Merit for his on-air and online work as a sportscaster for RadioAlabama’s Tiger Sports Network and Childersburg High School sports coverage.

The Chris Wright Show on 105.1 WRFS was named Alabama’s best morning show, its second such award, and a 105.1 WRFS “ducks” promotion for Russell Marine’s Boat Show on Lake Martin won the ABBY for client production.

Judging was done based on market class by a group of independent broadcast professionals in another state.

The Alabama Broadcasters Association has served as the official voice of the radio and television stations in Alabama since 1946. Dedicated to protecting and enhancing broadcasting and promoting the professional status of members, it provides vital programs and services including legal guidance, research, a job bank, the ABA Engineering Academy, the ABBY Awards, an inspection program, and lobbying and conducts management, sales, news, programming, legal training, and seminars.
