SYLACAUGA, Ala. – RadioAlabama and SylacaugaNews.com are again offering cash scholarships to local high school seniors.
Awards in the amount of $500 each will be given to a graduate of Sylacauga High School, B.B. Comer Memorial High School, Childersburg High School, and Fayetteville High School to help with college expenses
The intent is to recognize academic achievement and reward integrity, leadership, initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, communication skills, and community involvement. Since the program began in 2013, almost $18,000 has been made available to area graduates.
A qualifying applicant must have a current-year grade point average equivalent to 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and accepted for enrollment in a two- or four-year college, university, or trade school. Completed applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, and details are available from principals or guidance counselors at each school.
