CVMC tree lighting to be held next week

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Coosa Valley Medical Center’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Tree of Love Celebration will be held next week.

This is a highly anticipated event every year, for the past 37 years. It started the first year the Auxiliary was organized in 1981, and while it has moved around the CVMC campus on several occasions throughout history, its special meaning it holds for those it represents has remained the same. Any loved one can be honored with a light on the tree. It is a nice time to slow down and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and what it represents.

“We look forward to gathering once a year again with our community friends and family to celebrate and fellowship as we dedicate the Tree of Love,” said Chief Business Development Officer Vanessa Green. “Our CVMC Auxiliary will give back the funds raised to our CVMC Foundation to buy needed equipment and promote and continue new services to our community. It is a great way to honor or memorialize someone you love.”

To dedicate a light in a loved one’s memory, contact a hospital volunteer by calling the Auxiliary Gift Shop at (256) 401-4026 or (256) 401-4070. You can also donate through the PayPal link. When donating through PayPal, please use the note section to specify the name of the individual or group you are honoring or remembering. Lights are $2.50 for each name specified or $25 for a specified group of ten or more. To make a donation for tribute lights, you can also use the PayPal link.

The Tree of Love Celebration will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the CVMC main lobby.
