Anniston man killed in Tuesday morning crash north of Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Alabama State Troopers are reporting a traffic fatality near Talladega.

According to a statement from Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel, a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning at 1:45 claimed the life Anniston man. The statement reads that 43-year-old Chet Allen Hafley was killed when the 1995 Honda Odyssey he was driving left the roadway on Jennifer Road and overturned.

Hafley was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that speed may have been a factor.  The crash occurred seven miles north of Talladega. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
