The Sylacauga Civitan Club will host a yard sale on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 7:00 a.m. until noon on the corner of Broadway and 1st Street in Sylacauga. This sale will fund many projects for special needs children and adults: building wheelchair ramps when needed, providing a $500 scholarship for a local senior, and giving money to Camp ASCCA, The ARC and the UAB Civitan International Research Center.
BACKGROUND: Civitan International is a non-profit, volunteer service organization based in Birmingham that is dedicated to serving individual and community needs. With clubs across the U.S. and more than 49 countries worldwide, these members have an emphasis on supporting people with developmental disabilities. The flagship project of Civitan International is the Civitan International Research Center at UAB which conducts research on conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, brain and spinal cord injuries.
