TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Colton Brannen, a six-year-old boy from Fayetteville, has faced tremendous adversity so far in 2017.  On the surface, Brannen appears to be a normal, happy, six-year-old. However, there is more to Colton than meets the eye.

On Jan. 25, shortly after the beginning of what was supposed to be a normal year, young Brannen was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, Gliomatosis Cerebri. Ever since the diagnosis, his life has been drastically different, having to endure countless sessions of chemotherapy, as well as painful seizures.

Brannen has made new experiences throughout the year that he otherwise would not have. In April, Colton had the opportunity to attend senior prom at Fayetteville High School 12 years early. He also threw the first pitch at a FHS baseball game. Finally, the six-year-old superstar was able to score a touchdown for the FHS Wolves football team.

Better yet, Colton had the incredible chance to meet Nick Saban, head coach for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, on Thursday, June 15.  Colton also met many players from the team, including Shaun Dion Hamilton, Bo Scarbrough, Jerry Jeudy, and Jalen Hurts.
