Ollie’s Bargain Outlet grand opening set for Wednesday, June 14

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Shelves are stocked and employees have been hired, and now the much-anticipated grand opening of the Sylacauga Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is upon us.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 14, the store will celebrate opening its doors to the public. Ollie’s, one of the nation’s largest retailers of closeouts, excess inventory, and salvage merchandise, has been in the works since early Nov. 2017.

The retailer has locations spanning across 20 states east of the Mississippi River, totaling to 247 separate stores.

According to Ollie’s officials, the store prides itself on on selling quality products cheaper than they could be purchased almost anyone else.

SylacaugaNews.com was given the opportunity to tour the store one week out from its grand-opening, and Ollie’s did not lie about their prices. All items in the store were seemingly free compared to other large box stores.

So how does Ollie’s get the items for cheap?

According to Ollie’s, its buyers scour the world looking for brand name closeouts, overruns, package changes, manufacturer refurbs and irregulars. Ollie’s says most of its items come straight from the finest manufacturers in the country and world.

Ollie’s Bargain Center will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Alabama’s Radio Station of the year, Yea!106.5, will be at Ollie’s, just across from Dairy Queen on Ft. Williams St. from 8:30 to 10:30 Wednesday morning giving away Ollie’a gift cards and other prizes.
