Heart disease to be discussed at November Community Links event

SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Coosa Valley Medical Center is gearing up for its monthly Community Links forum for November. Community Links is an event held on the first Monday of every month that CVMC uses to spread awareness about numerous health related issues.

This month’s theme is Thankful Hearts. Dr. Andrew Miller from Cardiovascular Associates will be the special guest speaker.

CVMC Chief Business Development Officer Vanessa Green told SylacaugaNews.com that Miller plans to cover heart disease extensively, a number one killer among men and women. Miller will also go over the signs and symptoms of a heart attack that you should not ignore. The presentation will close with an open ended Q&A where Miller will answer any questions that audience members may have.

“Coosa Valley Medical Center feels that there is no better way to give back to the community than to educate and provide updated information to the people we serve,” said Green. “Honestly the knowledge you gain at Community Links could very well save your life.”

The event will take place today, at the B.B Comer Memorial Library. A luncheon provided by the Coosa Valley Medical Center’s Hickory Street Cafe will kick-off the event at 11:00 a.m., and Dr. Miller’s presentation will begin at noon.
