SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Coosa Valley Medical Center hosted its annual Employee Awards on Tuesday afternoon.
Hundreds gathered in the Hickory Street Cafe to gather for fellowship and refreshments as well as the presentation of numerous awards to the medical center’s staff.
“We are gathered here to honor excellence — not only excellence, but also perfection,” said CEO Glenn Sisk, who honored 77 employees with perfect job attendance over the last calendar year.
The hospital also honored employees with many years of service — 13 celebrating five years, 15 celebrating 10 years, five celebrating 15 years, four celebrating 20 years, five celebrating 25 years, one celebrating 30 years, four celebrating 35 years, and three celebrating 40 years. The 40-year employees: Carolyn Greger, Tollie Isome, and Marilyn Walker.
Excellence awards were also given. Lea Amaker won the Excellence in Ancillary Services Award, Carla Pruitt took home the Excellence in Support Services Award, Betty Gallaher and Candice tied for the Excellence in Nursing Award, Sallie Morrison was awarded the Excellence in Guest Excellence Award, and Dave Dettelbach won the Excellence in Leadership award.
A new Excellence in Teamwork Award honored the GDMP staff.
The Employee of the Year award is the biggest and most notable award given at the ceremony and was presented to Wendy Nix.
